Is there something special about it?

$650k is over double the price cars over here are going for

:?

Someone has spent a whole load of money ($250,000 to be precise) to upgrade the car, the result of which I would expect to have a serious impact on it's value as a collectors car and yet they are asking $ 650,000 (£ 365,000) - it did not reach it's reserve

There is another for sale in the UK (with no upgrades) going for £ 199,950

Need to check how much is in my piggy bank! :food:

the un-modded car is soooo much better - i just love that interior with the coloured leather stripes in the seats - and the old-fashioned s/wheel. Nice tool kit as well.

Last time i was at GT-One chatting about all-things-Porsche, I learnt how jaw-droppingly expensive it is to run a 959. Apparently simple things like a cracked head-lamp lens or a curbed wheel are 4-digit-pounds to replace! The 959 is imho one of the best looking Porsche ever made - and presumeably provided inspiration for some of the 993 shape as well as RUF with their 993 based CTR2 (or whatever it's called). Also, makes a GT2 seem like a bargain and it probably is with no doubt far lower cost to keep on the road than a 959.

one day, one day....

Th ex Eddie Irvine 959 is currently for sale at £135k, so 65k cheaper than te other English one for sale

Even that seems somewhat overpriced

give the credit crunch another 6 months and you will see prices discounted ... by 20% :?:
