I just saw this article on Worldcarfans. I'm confused...which models get the strip? Is it just the 'S' models - so both the 2S and 4S? Because in that picture above it shows a C4 and not a C4S...and yet it has the the strip?!

Also, on the 997, which models have the wide body..and which have the narrow? Is it just the C2 and C4 that have the narrow? :?:

Taran :frustrated:

On the current 997 i.e. gen 1 the C4/C4S is 44mm wider than the C2/C2S - rear axle width

Cheers Jamie. So the GT3, RS et al...all have the wider body?

Taran :?:

Don't know mate, my sales brochure doesn't cover the 'special ones'

Facelift 911 Carrera 4 & 4S pics, rear reflector returns

as below, not quite what i was expecting.....

what do you all think ?

Right, so it's just the 4 and 4S that get it. Cool

I think it looks ok, the pics make it look slightly aftermarket, but it will look better in real life i reckon. Is there any difference at the front end?

On the 996 the GT3 and RSs all have the slim-hipped C4 shell (not the wider 996 4S/turbo setup). [Incidentally, the 4 shell rather than the 2 as it has a stiffer front section, even though it is RWD].

On the 997, the GT3 uses the narrow body C2 shell and the RS has the wider track of the 4/Turbo/GT2.

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm, a white cab.....me want :)

Cheers guys, clarification most helpful!

I think the stripe looks bloody awful on the revised 997. Looks great on the 996 C4S and earlier variants but shite on that.

Just me 2p's worth :)

It could have been nicer, perhaps a tad thicker as on the old 996 C4S, instead of a thin red strip. I can just see the after market sales outlets producing these strips for the 2-wheel drive models soon.

Agree with you Dave. It's not deep enough. For some reason, it makes the back look a bit Cayman like to my way of thinking.

Hmmm

So this cold mean that residuals on my 996 C4S with its exceptional nice looking rear with proper wide stripe :puh: will go up for desirability reasons
