997 on Ebay

Surely that has to be recorded somewhere. The system would be severely lacking if that could be resold without any black mark on it's record..... The seller reckons it's still worth 80,000...... Maybe in Turkish Lire but that's about it if you ask me...

A few years ago when I was a VW a VW Golf R32 fell off the transporter after hitting a bridge.. We re-shelled the car, put it on the road as a demo, sold it 3 months later.. Never recorded !!

But if you was buying an EX Demo with 2,000 miles, would you have a PPI ??

rolled and then some !

The tail light on the driver's side appears to be the only salvagable part!

bit of T-cut and that'll polish out......

seriously, could this be sold on without reference to that damage?

Until a vehicle is registered it does not exist as far as anyone is concerned apart from the owner and manufacturer! The registration process triggers HPI and everything else as far as official records are concerned.

So there would be no legal obligation to record the repair, but I think you would be treading on very thin ice if you resold it without declaring it: However, there is a bit of a loophole with new cars to allow manufacturers to do rectification of damage during manufacture/delivery/storage.

The 800 miles may well be critical here, as it would probably not be considered as a new car - and therefore you would be obliged to declare the damage if asked. The repair would also of course have to be of 'merchantable quality' etc...
