Will make sure I just do a bunch of laps now and then through Match to familiarise myself with the track, to get an idea of which corners follow one another, then also catch some YouTube clips too. Any recommendation on particular clips I ought to check out.... ?

Looking forward to setting up the RUF later on tonight Thumb

I use Nick (NXI20) clips as he has the track overlay and speed / braking visible.

Also saw the Abarth 911uk, perfect as well.... Thumb

I'm going to have to bag a pax ride or 2 with you fellas too!

I have well over 100 laps on the ring as a driver and about a little bit less as a passenger. Some section still make me sweat....you must take it easy and build up speed gradually.
That track doesn't take prisoners if you are there for a chrono...there isn't run off in some places. Different tarmac surfaces and concrete in some places too. Very bumpy track .
A lot of muppets there.....it's like a crazy gladiators arena at time.....
it is very busy during the day . Best time to do the laps are early in the morning as soon ad it is open 8:00am or later before closure.
Try to avoid to drive on it after a VLN race as it will be slippery due to the rubber deposit o the track + durt.
Watch out for those bikes......... Gun Fire Gun Fire
Don't go mental when you see final straight at Gantry because often you have to queue to get out of the track and will cook you brake.....and engine temp can go high while waiting.
Best track in the world . Driving that track is amazing. Did few laps in the past nearly on my own there , track nearly empty .....best feeling ever.
Not too hard on brakes but can be hot just before Brunchen.
Enjoy the track and the beer !!!!!!!!

Driving on the Ring under the rain is madness. Did drive on it when it was damp, was ok but scary in places and I have "4wd".
Not worth the risk.
Did Spa under the rain and it was fantastic , plenty of run off there. You already must treat the Ring with respect on the dry , on the wet......forget about it.
I had the chance do do a passenger lap Nordschleife+Nurburgring F1 track in a racing car M3 during the VLN race practice last october, even with proper rain tyres and the set up with professional driver it was HELL !! Lots of fun , He was battling hard at every bend . It was an amazing experience.
If you are a pro why not , if you are an avarage good driver it's still not good enough !!!
Not trying to be a kill joy. Just seen too many nice cars ending at the back of the flat bed truck smashed in bits.....even 4wD cars.

Yup, it can be very hairy in the wet. My real concern though is,
what the other driver is doing....the possibility of rounding a
corner and finding bits of car everywhere..... Surprised

It's most certainly very challenging, wet sections, damp
sections, dry sections all in one lap....

The snow & cold at DN7 was quite "special" too - not forgetting the ice just after Aremberg Wink
