Hi all,
After only a year of ownership, my 996 Turbo soft top is for sale. Bought a house at the end of last year and much needed improvements and work are needed to be done to it unfortunately and so my toy needs to go. Hoping I can settle all the bills and buy back into Porsche ownership ASAP.

Car has been held by a local dealer for Sale or Return but market doesn't seem to be quite there at the price they are trying to get for it (Originally £49k!). Looking to take the car back and sell privately, at of course, private type market prices.

April 2004 Car
911 Turbo Tiptronic S
X50 Performance pack.
Black, black and black!
51k on the clock.
Full service history - Porsche centre and specialists.
Bodywork neat & tidy having been to the bodyshop recently for a pre-sale tidy up. Hardtop and stand included.
Sports seats, Sat Nav and Cruise control - black full leather Interior in good condition.
Mechanically very good, always been looked after, tons of receipts and paperwork for a pampered car. Genuine x50 certificate etc too. Had the bumper off during bodywork today and so ensured the rads are all clean and good condition - photos to show this.

Based near Banbury.
07929937684.
Looking at offers over £40k please.

Thanks Harry.

Thanks, it is a sad day. I have driven some v quick cars in my work and my hobbies but this is something else. Hoped to never get rid of it but reality kicked in when starting a life with wife house etc! Tho my dad is half tempted - he is putting together a collection of future classics that have already appreciated huge amounts. So with lots of persuasion might keep it in the family, but he wouldn't want it till towards the end of the year if he did unfortunately.

Lovely car... Shame you have to sell OP...

Have you looked at other options, finance is still quite cheap, and chances are if you sell now and then want to buy same again in 2-3 years it may be another 50%+ more...

Hi Mazza. Thanks for the reply. It is an brilliant car but when I buy back in I would like to get something a little less light-your-pants-on-fire throttle and a little more sensible fun. So just a 4S or something! Haha. Thanks.

Update: Having spoken to dealer today I have the potential to part exchange (@£41k) the TT against something else they have.. Noticed they have a couple of 997s so I may well stay in Porsche ownership and free up some cash at the same time! With no other interest and zero offers on the table, this may be my way forward. Will update if I go ahead with it.

Sorry to hear you've not had much response. Where else are you advertising it?

The dealer has it on autotrader and eBay. But has had it up for just over 2 months now with no luck. Not sure if the market is quiet due to Brexit indecision...

Maybe you should consider another dealer to shift it or just sell it outright to a trader. Part-ex you mention doesn't fit with the starting position declared but of course the option to part-ex is there.

Personally, if I was in the market for open-top motoring, I'd be buying in winter when people might not be looking and the bargaining position may be in a buyers favour.

Of course it could be that cars advertised prices and realised prices may be very different. If the dealer gives you £41k without a condition such as part-ex for a vehicle in his stock, that might be the best option. Selling it for cash to another specialist without buying a car from him may not give you £41k.

I suspect straight cash sale to dealer you'd get £35k - £37k tops.
He would retail it at £45k (X50 yrs, but tiptronc and cab means not the highest prices IMHO)
