Ok most of you know that it is with deep regret and probably a whole lot of stupidity that the beastie is going up for sale.

This is no ordinary GT3 with many expensive parts and a very large wad of cash just thrown at it recently to bring it up to tip top standard.

Details are:

996 GT3 Mk1 LHD

2000 model that has been in Uk since March 2000

3 previous owners in Uk - last one 3 1/2 years and well known in Porsche community

Guards Red (just had full paint correction and detailing by Glyn O'Donnell of Elitedetailer).

33,000 miles

FSH and serviced about 2500 miles ago where:

- all 4 brake discs were replaced

- all 4 sets of pads were replaced with 996 GT3 Supercup pads

- all brake fluid replaced with racing blue

- GT3 Cup brake ducts fitted

- new Dunlop Super Sport Race Tyres fitted all round

- All wheels fully refurbished by specialist with graphite centres and silver rims

- both front corner radiators replaced

- both coolant rads replaced

- protective mesh fitted and bonded to vents in pront PU

Car comes with the proper bucket sports seats and aircon (the 2 main important parts), Cd and onboard computer but benefits from new:

Penske (the US Porsche LM2 race team) race shocks and Eibach dampers all round - fully adjustable and has had extensive setting up (don't ask the cost) with GT3R rear track rods

Cargraphic exhaust

Short shift gearstick

5 point quick release harness on drivers seat with 4 point harness on passenger - normal belts still in place

Rebuilt gearbox by Porsche OPC

385bhp on rolling road

Would like it to go to an enthusiast who is going to use it for its intended purpose.

NO TYRE KICKERS OR JOY RIDERS.

SERIOUS ENQUIRIES ONLY PLEASE

you can have the pic for sure...you can only have the lad if you promise to take his brother and sister as well  :D

I don't normally like red cars but that looks sweet. Dare I ask at what price this car is for sale.

Reds do have a tendency to fade out more noticeably than other colours, many pictures also don't do the colour justice ...but as a colour it so suits the GT3. It is more critcal with reds than any other colour to make sure you have some sort of paint protection & not leave them in the outdoors too much to retain the depth of colour. I didn't ever want a red car either, but it can look stunning.

Looks stunning - maybe one day I can afford something like that....

(do you take installments at £50 a week lol)

Jason, are you sure this is correct? I thought Glyn's company name was something different?

His website has always been elitedetailer but I think the company goes by the name Carnoisseur or something...hes a great guy though.

Last bump before I go global!

Told you, that's the one you'd sell Jason. Have you started procedings to recover the loss in value of the RS? It must be quite a bit based on current prices. I see there is a firm in Porsche File who specialise in that service.
