I'm looking for a LHD 964RS/L, any colour except black, red or midnight blue. Doesn't need to be totally original, but must be in good general condition and reasonable mileage (sub 75K miles). Also, it must have the magnesium Cup 1s.

Does anyone know of anything around - I'm aware of the 3 on PH, and a rather ropey rubystone one at SG Autopoint in Windsor. Looking to spend around £40K.

cheers
Ian

I don;t know how attractive an option it is for you but The 9m 964rs replica/rebuild that was featured in T911 a few months back sounds like a good option to me, esp if your not that bothreed about origionality?

Give GT Classics a buzz, what they don't have in stock they can usually source fom their German friends. Have only heard good reports of their stock.

Why are you against those colours (out of interest!) - personally I like the 964RS in black and gaurds?

Hard to put a price on a good '64RS just now as there's some dodgy ones about and those with good history are often priced highly to test the market.

I've spoken to Paul at GT Classics - he hasn't got anything suitable at the moment, though there is a rubystone one at H+S. He does have an N-GT for mid-fifties plus.

With regard the colour, I don't like dark cars, and my current 964 is guards red and fancied a change. I may have to compromise here, and if so one of the PH cars would fit the bill - low mileage, good condition but had some panels replaced and a full respray.

The 9M option had accurred to me - in fact the owner of the white demo car may be selling at around £45K. Otherwise the price is a bit high.

Mmm, N-GT is cool - welded in cage and all that. Pricey but probably somewhat of an investment.

I'm not a fan of rubystone - there are some 'marmite' colours, and to be fair my car comes into that category, but rubystone is just pink to me.

If you're not looking for a collectable then the PH car could be a good option. If it checks out through a thorough inspection I wouldn't be too concerned about the respray and panels. I presume you'll be planning on tracking the car if it's not a concours garage queen you're looking for?

Yes, from my point of view the colour is the only thing against the PH car. It will be used as a track day car, so the paint/panels aren't an issue.
