Potential 996 purchase...

OK - well it doesn't tick all of the boxes but it's pretty close. I've been searching for a 99-01 black 996 for a while. I'm not a fan of the aero kit (good here) and ideally wanted Litronics and Sport Classic II wheels (bad here) but it has PSE and spotless black sport seats and interior. It's a '99 UK car with 41k miles, full OPC history, pretty much spotless and passed a 111 check last year.

I'm getting a PPI anyway but just wanted to see what you guys think so I feel better or worse about buying my first Porsche depending on what you think it's worth!

Nice ... you're better of with the turbo wheels IMO. My sport classic IIs are a right pi$$er to clean.

nice looking car,

however the wheels look not so good

Looks lovely, but be mindful that the OPC warranty can only be taken for so many years from new. Someone may want to elaborate on this.

When you say passed 111 point check I assume they then took out the OPC warranty otherwise it will need to take, and pass, another one before OPC warranty can be bought.

I'm used to taking wheels off to clean them anyway, so preference would be Sport Classic 2s, Turbo and GT3 ones last. If I buy the car then I'll see how it goes - can always swap them.

The 111 check / warranty isn't a problem as it's factored in with the price.

I know - but I have always cleaned my car once a week and they have a Carcoon and garage to sit in - only used weekends.

I think 9 years is the time limit on OPC warranties - might be wrong.

I think it is nine and 125,000 miles? Either way it will get 12 months warranty and could still be renewed next year.

Quick mock-up of Sport Classic 2s:

They don't do anything for me, sorry - a bit to much like plug holes in sinks.
