Specialist Cars of Malton & Revo remap

Ok....further to my recent post on my TT major service I decided that I would go and visit Specialist Cars of Malton ("SCM") this weekend as I live in York and they had a few open days this weekend. Well their service guys seemed to be really enthusiastic and know what they were talking about to such an extent that I was more than happy to cancel JCT 600 in Leeds (not heard great things) and rebook into SCM for my major service. Does anyone know if this would compromise my OPC warranty or would this be acceptable and any other comments on SCM. In addition the ba*ta$ds put me a free Revo remap (+50bhp & 75ft/lbs) for 5 hours of drive time and I must say that I really like it. The bottom end torque and pick up feels much better than it was and it also feels a bit perkier throughout the gears. Not sure if this is a placebo effect or there is some genuine benefit which I believe there is....the drive home was certainly fun

. Anyone else has one of these and would like to comment?

those REVO trials are so tempting

Don't go for the trials.
Once sampled you won't be able to resist.
It will gnaw away at you until you get it. I know this will happen which is why I refuse to try it.

I was having a chat to Mitchell yesterday about his GT3, he's running 420bhp on software alone, he has to use the best (highest octane) fuel available to avoid 'issues'

Inside the filler cap on my 993 _ i think the recommended fuel is 98 octane anyway.

Bit too late now....great bit of marketing with the free 5 hour trial (and it is 5 hours of driving time so no rush to use it up). Think I have already concluded that I would miss it
.

Now do I go for the programmable SPS option?

Excluding the revo, are there any views on SCM and whether using them for the major service would be a problem for my warranty?

The warranty thing is difficult and seems to depend on the OPC. They might make you have another 111 point check before renew. But the warranty itself will still be valid.

Daz has a REVO remap in his 3, he swears that he is "able to outdrag other 3's in his at Bedford"

But that was just either Rob pootling round or Kin on an in lap

well he gets all of that 102 Ron on a deal with BP so the program is designed for 102, although it would struggle to get past 400 in regualr 98 without any extra engine work

but still one of the best aftermarket plug and play remaps you can get, on a TT a must

On the Warranty question, I asked Northway Indy if they were to service my car, does it invalidate the OPC Warranty? They said no, coz they are an approved agent using gen Porsche parts. BUT... that any items under the Warranty would best be done via separate visit to OPC.

As I remember this, his attempt at "outdragging other 3's" was captured on video, complete with much tyre smoke, and him facing the direction from which he came. He seems to perform often on video!

Spinning at Bedford in a 3 seems to be the cool thing to do!

For some reason the yellow ones have a greater disposition to spinning than other colours...
