Fan Belt Whine

After it has been raining heavily my fan belt slips a little producing that lovely screechy noise on start up. This is accompanied with the low battery warning light coming on. This stays on for about 10 seconds. The whine from the fan belt stops after 3 or 4 blips of the throttle. OPC tell me this is quite normal for the 996TT due to the design of the rear spoiler. All it is, they say, is a little moisture on the fan belt and that it is not slack at all.

OPC Codswollop? Or quite common?

Mine's (996 C4S) been doing it for the last month or so. No too concerned, as the whine goes in a matter of 2-3 secs.
