13k miles 04/04 with PCCB's
£64995............ Good price considering.

I assume its because these track focussed cars are seasonal (like cab's).

Mid you by the look of it it's had a bad repair job - I'd bang my head trying to get into it.......

OPC Cardiff GT3RS :p

That's one way of resizing your pics to make sure they can be uploaded!

RSs now seem to have fallen very close in value to GT3s. Amazing if in a year these great cars will be in the £50k's!? I'll have one in blue thanks.

That would certainly be something to see...... a 996 RS in the 50-60k bracket.

I wonder if it will happen ?

sure will,

funny 3 held firm and now falling quite rapid.

wonder if i should hang on for a few more months

the rs in cardiff has been there for at least 6 months, and nearly all the miles are track miles.

By Spring 2007, I reckon for a good RHD UK car:

Mk1 = 45k
Mk2 = 50k
RS = 58k

That means you could lose £6K on an RS over the winter! In reality how much better is an RS than a standard 3?

not enough to justify the diff Chris,

With regards value Ocean,

You can already pick a good 3 Mk2 for circa £49 - £50k

I think the market for the Mk1 is based on supply and demand, more than the M2, the Mk1 is not so much purchased by track day people, now but more the purist looking for a keeper, so this market may act differentley other than LHD that is.

Assuming your objectives are track work, it's a slightly lighter/sharper tool because of the marginally reduced weight and revised suspension. But it's possible to Manthey the suspension of a Mk1/2 to get better-than-RS suspension, as long as the option for monoballs are chosen. TBH, at the end of the day, all variants of the GT3 are so close in ability that it really comes down to driver ability.

Daz, Mk1 market seems slightly smaller at the moment, but I think that's because Mk2s will take the biggest hit with the 7GT3 and there are just a lot more Mk2s out there. Over the medium term, Mk1s and Mk2s will get closer and closer in price.

agree,

might hold off for a few months and see what happens,

looks soft out there at the moment.

Not sure the track only miles matters - does it ?

If the car has not been over -revved (data the OPC will have from the cars ECU) and the car is otherwise well maintained - then happy days.

At least with an OPC (I can't believe that I'm defending OPC's here !) is that the car will never be a CAT D, will have been repaired to very high standard and the paintwork will be spotless. Oh and it'll have a warranty !

If a car is tracked, I like to see that it has had a more frequent service history (ideally with a reputable indie who specialises in GT3s). A quick check of the service logbook is one thing, but a better method is to call the garage to ask questions about the car in question to find out if they did any additional work/minor services/updates/tuning in between major services.

I know that a lot of the more fastidiously maintained/better cars spend a lot of time getting minor fettling/updates/tuning at the indies and no money is spared in their upkeep. Unfortunately, a lot of this doesn't get recorded in the service logbook, but the service manager will inevitably know the car if the owner spent their time/money ensuring the car was "right".
