Im wondering what can be done here - Im not too impressed with Porsche. Here is the story -
I recently bought a new(ish) 5 years 911 996 Cab. I bought it from a local dealer but before I bought it I asked for the 111 point check on the car and I asked for it under the porsche warranty.
The car passes the check - did pick the usual engine leak problem so I pad for the work to be done on the car and then paid my 750£ for the extended manufacturer warranty
Everything fine - One month later I put the roof down and the locking mechanism catches the roof and makes a hole - I go over to porsche in Reading dealership and say whats the problem with this -
The roof guy within seconds says - Ah - Its because you dont have the plastic cover thats part of the lock mechanism - Its broken off and thats why the roof is snagged you were just lucky so far that the fabrix didnt fold into it.
But they claim that the plastic cover isnt under warranty - Although they also claim that they do the 111 ceck the roof passes because that cover isnt part of the check. Well blow me what the cover designed for - Its not looks its part of the catch - They should have seen it after all the roof mechanism is part of the check . That parts missing so it should not pass the check .. They say they just check the electrics.
I say they should have picked it up The £11 part will now cost me £2K to get a new roof - The part after all isnt there for looks and is part of the mechanism and should be sorted.
Whats the point of paying £750 for a warranty that they pick and chose whats warrantied.
Thoughts -- anyone . - Anyone know the working of the 111 point check ?
