Very interesting Sundeep. There was a time when I would have done this myself but these days, the cheque book is a far better mechanic than I ever could have been.

Does anyone know as a % how many 996's suffer from this problem?

Not sure I would attempt the fix myself - I like the way he says it is easy and then explains it for 7 pages!

I take it that means the RMS is covered under the Porsche warranty.

Now I've decided to 'get wet' and bought from an OPC looks like I'll have to keep up with the warranty.

Chris/Mark

The ext warranty does cover RMS this is one warranty job OPCs do not quibble about.
