I found some worrying post on the forum regarding engine blowing at low mileage with porsche apparently unwilling to help. Were these problems sorted or is there still an unsolved problem in the 997 engine ?

Thanks

with your warranty it is not a problem, the 'issues' have been for the unlucky few who have out of warranty 996's

Hi Rob, the post title is "996 engine problem" from April 2005.

Not heard from the Dr so not sure what the outcome there was, but he had a 99 car which had the 1st water cooled 3.4 engine which did have a few problems however the face lift 996 with the 3.6 is a better engine with some of these problems resolved, so stands to reason the 997 engine the 3.8?? i think will be better still. And as sundeep says your car will be fully warranted so you wouldnt have this issue anyway.
