Hey folks,
I was offered a LHD 1999 996 C2 at the weekend at what seemed like a very good price of £25k (too good?? :? ). I had only really concentrated my 911 searches on 993's so far, but, given that any 911 that I buy is likely to be my main car (racking up about 12k miles a year), then a 996 might well be a more practical purchase.
Now, I've heard lots about the fabled 996 RMS issue. Apparently this particular car has not shown any sign of RMS problems during it's 55k miles and has FPSH. The question is, is RMS failure an inevitability or down to luck of the fraw? Does the fact that this car had been ok to date mean it's a good'un and will be fine for another 55k, or do they all go at some point and so this one is probably 'due'?
Any thoughts?
James
