993 from 18 to 17 cups

having kerbed front and rear driver side (factory) 18 technos on my '96 993 I was thinking of taking the opportunity to try 17 cups as I always found the 18s a bit firm for the moon-like roads of the north west

will I miss the 18s? especially aesthetically, and when it is time to sell ..

well the 17" are no where near exposed..........

where as Turbo's seem to out from the tyre and practically a magnet to kerbs !

18's do sell..... but then again the better ride quality and reduced wheel refurb costs are always a help !

Why not keep both - maybe put winter tyres on the 17s and summer tyres on the 18's?? (or even better track tyres on the 18's!!!)

Had the 18" technology's on my last 993 and am now running 17" cups on the current 993.

Apart from asthetics, the 17" are a much better package on the road.
