I Know, your all going to hate me for even thinking of it !!

But, My girlfriend has asked me why i am getting a 993.

Her views are-

The 993 I can afford is going to be 7-10 years old.(24-28k)

No warranty.

You seem to see them on the road every day.

........................................................................................................

She has said a Clio V6 is a better buy.

(a) Its newer and 90% hand built

(b) it will have a 3 year warranty on it

(c) I can get on New On the road for £21,700(As i work for Renault UK)

(d) you don't see them every day

(e) Insurance is cheaper (I replied "buy£60")

HELP........... :(

get a mini cooper if you wanna go that route!!
or a Civic R or or or ...................!

if you wanna 911 ---you get a 911! if you have to justify it ...theres loads of reasons why not!its like.. wanting a house in spain and deciding on Bognor - not really the same is it!!!!

But u get a RENAULT--- you have a Renault !!
...........Get a 911------and youre someone! ..............

Porsche there IS NO SUBSTITUTE! 8)

After 3 years, what would the residuals look like. I had my LHD 993 Tip Cab for 2 and a half years and lost about £3k. Would the clio still be woth 18 in 3 years time?.

My pal at work here races in the clio cup. I'll ask him if his is up for grabs, but it wont be comfortable for the girlfriend tho

get what you want not what she says you should get!

that is a very slippery slope and is setting all sorts of precedents for future life!

993 vs clio v6 there is no comparison, she probably just fancies Thierry Henry!

Porsche's: you see them all the time? She's gotta be kiddin'!! 993s rarer still.

You can see a bleeding old Clio any time you want. OK, the V6 might not be exactly a cooking model, but it's still, well, er, a R E N A U L T...

I think the Renault is cool - drive both Mate- only you can decide - Funny enough I don't think the rear-engined Renaults depreciate too badly .... on Autotrader ther are only a handful - going fromm 18,500 to 21k.

At least the V6 has it's engine in the right place unlike the rest of the Renault range.
