Looking to purchase a 993. Anyone had any dealings with Portiacraft or Paul Stephens?

Having what appears from the forum to be a typical [internal] debate on C2 versus C4, and wondering whether or not there is a real issue for normal road driving, even in the wet.

Quite fancy a few cars I've seen, including at Portiacraft, Paul Stephens, Paragon (but Turquoise...) and Paul Devyea.

Have seen very good references for Paragon, but any positive/negative on the others?

Paul only has good cars from my experience. I've used Paul and La Rose for servicing for close on 10 years now and never had an issue. My current pride and joy was sourecd by him. Paragon are good but you'll see that the prices reflect their desired station of somewhere between specialist and OPC. As for C2 vs C4. I've not owned a C4 but more by car availability rather than deliberate choice. I'm sure that the C4 owners would rightly claim that the extra sticky in adverse weather conditions is useful, but I cant remember seeing evidence that there is a usable performance difference. I think the 993 is so well sorted that you'd have to be baring knuckles to get in serious trouble. Mine is used for more than sunny days and I've never felt uncomfortable in the odd monsoon.
