Hi guys an girls(if there are any!).
I have a 993 porsche 1997 model, which i have recentley bought. The car seems to be on standard shocks with a lowered spring kit ,the brand of which im unsure of! Well to say that the car drives poor is an understatement, massive oversteer if performance is used round the twists, and its bumpy as hell. Infact its horrible. The car also tends to wander left to right, this i assume is due to incorrect wheel alignement, and the fact tht the front wishbone bushes seem to be really worn this also seems to be giving a knocking sound over bumps?potholes of which there are thousands of! The car sits way to low aswell, its near impossible to tackle speed humps, im going to overhaul the car myself so hopefully sorting these troubles out isnt a problem however with no previous experience in what works best for porsche, im hoping you guys and girls cud shed some light on a few queries:
1)What is the best uprated slightly lowered suspension combination to use? I dont want my fillings knocking out! Im looking at koni shocks and eibach springs, any one had any experience of these on a 993, or have any other suggestions? Or shall i stick to standard springs, any info here would be appreciated.
2)Does any one know of replacement bushes for the front wish bones? Or is it a buy the complete arm job? I think i can get powerflex bushes, any one with any experience with these? I was hoping to get hold of some standard replacements, but no one seems to sell them.
3)Now the most famous question: more power! Any particular cat bypass, exhausts, filters, or other mods work well? Any one used the 3.8 big bore kit on a 3.6? Any one had any experience with rechipping the ecu, good results?
Cheers for that peeps!
