Just joined the group as I'm looking to move from my TVR Tuscan to a GT3 or maybe second hand 911 Turbo. I always found the Tuscan owners discussion forum one of the most useful so I'm hoping this group will be the same in the future for me... (I also posted on Porsche Owners site, not sure what the different audiences are!)I stopped off at a dealer recently and asked what the delivery times were on a GT3, they told be they had sold all their allocation up to Aug-2004, does anyone know if this is the case for all
UK
dealers or can I shop around and get lucky!Just don't know how the Porsche dealers work...Thanks, Peter

Peter

The whole of the UK allocation has been sold out for a long time. I think the UK allocation was about 130 cars, and the car is only be manufactured for the 2004 Model Year which ends in July.

As Luke said, my car is available after Christmas, if you are interested let me know. If you want brand new, drop me a personal message and I may be able to point you in the right direction.

The GT3 is a fantastic car, and the choise between Turbo and GT3 all depends what you are going to use it for. The only reason I am selling mine is to make way for the GT3RS.

Cheers

Sean

Plenty of brand new ones around for sale anyway. The specialists should have some, and the official dealers have got a couple very low mile nearly new ones. There was one on display at Reading but I'm not sure if that's for sale.

I just noticed you're from Reading, helpful coincidence. Go down to AFN Reading and make them an offer on their GT3
. They also have a silver mk 1 GT3 for sale, and many many turbos. See my aaaaaaaaaah thread

Nice to see people in the UK have snapped up the allocation of GT3s. Would you beleive that the OPC here in Dubai has had a brand new 2004 GT3, silver with black leather and good options in the showroom since May, priced at GBP 56,250 (based on today's exchange rate) and they can't shift it.

They've managed to sell about four hundred units of the Cayenne this year, but of their allocation of six GT3s they've still got one sitting there. Fancy a left hand drive one Peter? at that price it must be cheap even with shipping to the UK.

£56k! That's the price if a standard carrera here. A similarly specc'd UK GT3 would be £75-80k.

A standard C2 can be bought here new for about GBP 35,000 from a Dubai Duty Free prize winner (they raffle them at the airport for 80 quid a ticket and most get sold on unused). Even from the OPC a C2 can be bought for GBP 40,000.

Gives you some idea how much of the UK buyer's money is going to Chancellor Gordon money bags doesn't it!

What side of the road do they drive on in Dubai?

Thanks for all the replies so far, I'm back in Reading on Saturday so I will go to AFN early next week and I've also contacted Sean. You reference the Specialists may have some GT3s, as I'm new to the 911 world are there any best known specialists I should go to first or a place where I can find a list/directory?

Regards, Peter

On this very site at the bottom where it says independent dealers. Also look at
www.autoclassica.co.uk
I think they have one. However I would recommend Sean's as it's already broken in and is nicely optioned.
