I'm looking to mod it already!

I'd like to tweak the suspension inc corner weighting, change it's current exhaust system (for a great sound AND performance enhancer) and a performance upgrade...chip....ECU type of thing !

So....

I'd like to go to one place and have the above done.

I'm Manchester area, will travel.

I'm hoping circa £3-£5k may be reasonable for the above ? I'm after torque over BHP.

Suggestions anyone.

Many thanks in advance

Chris

Chris. I would recommend Ninemeister based in Warrington. They are an independent specialist and are highly recommended for modification work on 964's and 993's.

The contact details are:

Ninemeister, Unit 23, Bank Quay Trading Estate, Warrington, Cheshire, WA1 1PJ, Tel: 07000 930930 or 01925 242342 Fax 01925 417638

PS I have no connection, nor have ever used them, but have heard lots of good reports.

Cheers, James

WOOOOOOOOOO SOMEBODY BOUGHT A 993 TT INSTEAD OF A BOGGO 996 C2! Well done. I was looking at you online and waiting for you to post
. One place? Is there a RUF outlet anywhere in the UK? But then you might end up spending £15k on an engine job...oh well
. Seriously though, I would go for one of the major tuners for upgraded things on a turbo. I think its harder to make quality stuff for the turbo charged engine, and to put it in properly. I'm no expert though.

As bones will tell you!

I'll second the JZ Machtech route, used them for years, they are Roock UK agents. Roock are just as good as Ruf but cheaper.

Many thanks James, I do remember the Warrington based chappie....we had a great epic battle at Oulton Park 6 months or so ago....I was in a ex-Ford Championship cosworth Sapphire weighing in at 975kgs producing 532bhp with 431 ft lb torque and he was in his gorgeous RS....he came over to talk afterwards stating it was the first time he'd ever moved over to let a Ford pass :)

Thanks for the other comments peeps...........

Look forward to being a useful part of the community

Regards

Chris

That sounds like quite a car! Do you still have it?

Re your 993 Turbo, I am sure you already realise but you are unlikely to put much value on it by modifiying it, and may actually de-value it. I am sure you will doing them for yourself, not for re-sale value though.

PS. Have you got any nice photos of it for us?

Minor modifications such as this will not do much either way for the resale. Will heighten the level of enjoyment you get out of it though. If no pics, at least tell us the colour and spec?

Corner balancing and alignment shouldn't cost more than £500, before you pay someone else to fit an exhaust you know nothing about, do some research, getting the mixture wrong on a blown engine could be very expensive . An exhaust system can be had for £1000+. I've heard very good things about AMD in Oxfordshire as regards chips but have no idea on the price. If you start uprating Turbos you may be getting into bigger intercoolers etc. and big money.
JZ Machtech are very good down here also try Autofarm. That's the good news the bad news is I have to rebuild my gear box this winter, more to follow over the coming weeks as I need help!!
Noony I like your references to me as if I am a guru instead of a half-wit, you should have more stars.

The car is in silver with dark/mid green leather (sounds iffy I know but it looks gorgeous).

Jan 97 registered it would be P registration (but is now on my P.P)

35k miles with FPSH and 1 previous owner who spent more time polishing it than driving it...it lived in a de-humidified garage .....he also had a collection of other "supercars" and now regrets parting with the Porsche.....he's a mature chap (late 50's) and owns several farmholdings down South.

Manual gearbox, air con, roof, etc....I'm presuming all the normal std spec ?

The car is original, unmarked and a joy to drive :D

I'm thinking of getting the windows "slightly" tinted....will this detract from it's looks/value ?

I understand re; the de-valuation with regards to certain mods but will try to keep it subtle.....my hopes are to hang on to this for many years to come with the intention of it further becoming a collectable assett :D

Can you tell me how to post pics please ?

I'll try this rear view ?

Chris. Sometimes I find I have to press the "Up" button twice in order to get it to work.

Tech-9 are also up your way somewhere I believe. They look after the 993 T4 of one of the regulars on the Pistonheads forum. It might be worth saying hi over there ! (not wishing to divert traffic away from this wonderful forum of course !!!!)
