Seen a nice example of a guards red with PDK. Centre lock wheels etc

£79995 one owner 12000k miles. Porsche warranty till May 2020

Specialist dealer. Sorry cant post a link but its on PistonHeads classifieds.

Currently have a 981 Cayman GTS so not familiar with the 991 GTS.

Any thoughts on price, specification would be appreciated.

12 million miles

:D

From the advert it looks like a great car at the right price. Spec is really nice. Colour is fab - although I wouldn't choose black wheels.

The fastest colour :thumb:

Can't find the ad but presume it's a turbo from the looks of the PCM?

You might want to budget for pre-warranty check and warranty renewal cost come May? Or use that for price negotiation.

You don't choose black wheels on the GTS, it's part of the standard package. To not want black wheels on the GTS you have to choose something else.

Can't see it hanging around for too long, someone will grab it. Looks a good one.

It should have had its first service last May. So good for another 2 years or another 28k miles, whichever comes first.

It's got Sports Chrono, which is always good. And PDCC too, by the looks of it. The multi-function wheel will drive some people here nuts, but ignore them, they are nuts.

It was the best decision I ever made buying mine. It goes around corners like few other cars, and that engine, even with the turbos, is immense. The torque across the lower rev range is a joy, and it just keeps on pushing. The sound isn't going to blow your socks off, but you can't have everything. :thumb:

As mentioned above if you can source from an OPC you'll get 24 months warranty minimum. It might be worth paying a bit more for that.

I had noticed the other day that prices between the 997 and 991 GTS's had actually started to cross over on pistonheads. Most expensive 997s were £5 more than cheapest 991s (2 examples).

So on that basis as others have said I'm thinking price.

Carmine red is actually much faster than Guards red, but they are great cars.

I am not sure what you are going to get over and above a Cayman 981 GTS. Sure the 911 thing is great, but your car is also amazing, so what do you need from a 991.2?

I'd insist on having OPC warranty extended, which you may have to do yourself, along with a new 111 point check, but get that done for the price and you have a good car.

991.1 GTS available for £10k less and they have all the drama of your 981.

Just seen who it's on with and George MacKay Cars are great. I would not think twice about them and they'll sort the warranty if its a deal breaker. Assume you are talking to Andrew? They supplied mine and cannot fault them.

Thanks all for your replies, very helpful.

Really fancy a change but the 981 CGTS is indeed a beautiful road car.

There is a slim chance of a 718 GT4 or Spyder, will know tomorrow.

The Aston is still tempting.

must be exciting time-with your budget lots of choice available

I started looking at Carrera T`s in November and ended up with Turbo

My son went from 981 base to 718 to GT4 in the space of few months

There isn't a wrong choice for any of the Porsche`s. Not a fan of Aston though but that's just me.

update us on your decision and good luck.
