So I had been looking about for a while for something and had test drove a 991.2 from Porsche Perth which was amazing (cab C2S) but when they talked depreciation I did not fancy 1k per month... Back to drawing board and looking at 997 and 991.1.

I spent way too much time looking at every variant possible and eventually a car had caught my eye but the interior leather looked like cream which I did not fancy (pics below). I phoned the guy selling and got the code and it wasn't actually cream and he explained it had 11 months left or porsche warranty as well as 111 point check in November 2019 which was great and gave me huge piece of mind buying outside of OPC (and great price). Also recently new tyres/discs and pads.

I was down for work near London so plan was to head across and then if suitable drive back up to Glasgow. Well I saw it and instantly thought how much better it looked in the pictures so did the deal and then had a long 400 mile drive to get acquainted with car.

Spec is burmester sound/heated seats/PSE/Chrono Plus/Black wheels/front rear reversing sensors/clear rear lenses. Had a fun drive out yesterday and amazing fun and so much power - most powerful car owned previous was 200bhp A4 estate AWD.

Looking dirtier and worse for wear now and its immaculate bar a little surface tear on roof and a tiny nick out of leather in center console armrest

Things thinking of doing are:

Zunnsport grilles
Roadangel device
Either ceramic coat or PPF

Lovely! The two tone interiors look fab, car scrubs up very well 🤗

Hit 'hotlink" rather than 'thumbnails" for the photos :thumb:

Hi balcairn - congrats, that's a lovely looking car :thumb:

I have the same two-tone leather in mine and prefer it to all black - it's different to most and helps give some contrast.

Welcome to the 991.1 Club

cheers for hotlink information and yes I really am liking the two tone. Went for a drive yesterday with roof down, heated seats on and heating blasting out :) had to be done

:welcome:

Great to have some new blood in the 991 club! :D

I am guessing the interior is black / platinum grey two-tone :?:

That's a really nice looking cab, colour scheme suits it perfectly :thumb:

thanks and you sir can have a cookie - may have to buy it yourself though... And new blood - not young blood :D

Love it nice car just in time for when the weather is better for days out.

Little update after having owned car 1.5 years. I never before realised how much enjoyment/unwinding can be had for just going for a a long drive in scotland with top down and pootling along. So much fun. Went for a drive up to Oban and back of 8 hours and only stopped for lunch. Blessed with some great roads for sure

Sadly car had PADM failure and they are suggesting to replace 'L/H engine mount'. I don't think parts in stock So unsure how long to wait - is replacing own normal?

That looks very very nice, that 3.8 engine with the sport system is a dream! They dont make em like that anymore. Enjoy :thumb:

Very nice :thumb:

Well ouch. Car in around the PADM failure and after a checkup its pain all round apparently. Surprised since had service last July and *nothing* was called out.

Wow that sounds a lot :nooo:

I would certainly look at going to a Porsche specialist I'm sure a lot
could be sorted rather than be totally replaced.
And lovely car :thumb:

so with warranty at least the two biggies are covered actuator/engine mounts so thats cost of warranty I got for 2 years already worth it :) (£1,327.24 + £1,117.37)

I got a carcoon for the car and its running a de-humidifier so either last July when serviced they didn't notice anything with checking or else its all corroded over winter with it in Carcoon/dehumidifier....

Methinks need to do some research on what to do this winter then as I could see the (rather bad) corrosion.

£743 for exhaust fixings? :)
