Hi,
I've had the car just over a month and love it, but there is a really annoying squeak from the drivers seat bolster when going over bumps. When you push down on it above the electric controls you can replicate it, and if you stick your hand under it when pushing down it doesn't happen 😂 I've searched but can't see a thread on it, has anyone any advice on how to stop it? Thanks rob

Its more common than you might think, with small but annoying squeaks and creaks effecting cars across the brand. When cars are new dealers will try to fix, once cars get older you are on your own, even with warranty. Generally however they are small and easily sorted or at least improved.

For future reference I have listed most common places.

In general noises can be tracked to several locations. These are:

* Seat Belt fastener / buckle - Fix is to add extra velcro to side of fastener as it can rub on place in between seat and centre panel.

* Top Side bolster - Noise is the airbag cover rubbing on the side of the seat. Add velcro or High Grip Anti slip tape around the edge of the cover where it touches the seat. Another area to check is the side tabs that are used when the seats are tilted for rear passenger access. Adding a small bit of velcro tape can cushion any noises

* Side slide bar/handle- add velcro tape to inside of handle to cushion

And in your case:

* Bottom Seat Bolster - Slide a piece of cardboard down between the seat electrics and the seat itself from the outside looking at seat. If this does not work have a look under the seat and feel around where the switches are, you can pull out a little and create a small gap to wedge a piece of cardboard or other suitable substance from this side of the seat to minimise creaks.

Also bizarrely in some cases just changing the angle of the seat using the adjusters can also reduce rattles / creaks etc. In more extreme cases you can get greater access to the seating area by removing the padding from seats by pulling the inside of the back panel away from the seat its self.

Another common area for creaks is the centre arm rest. This has to be replaced to remove squeak/ creak. You tuber Auto Amateur did a great video.

These noises / creaks are as mentioned not just on the 911 but across the range, many seats don't make any noises however quite a few do. It also effects the brand new 992 model!!. So you are not alone.

Hope this helps. And Happy New Year !!

Enjoy your new 911!

All the best
