I'm wanting to change the drivers seat or both seats in my 996.1. I have atm sports seats. Black leather with grey backs. Condition wise, the drivers is decent to good but not great. The bolster has a section that the leather is worn but I honestly think that dye would sort this nicely as it still has its shape. Passenger seats obviously better, quite good actually. Both seat backs have small marks. Nothing major.

There are electric tilt etc but not lumbar.

Any seats I have seen advertised are scandalous money, way over £1000. Fair enough they may be very good condition but I definitely think the price is steep. I will definitely be fitting a bucket seat in the drivers side. Maybe both as I'm heading for the track day idea.

Big question is, what is the asking price?

I'm in Northern Ireland so shipping to the uk would be a nightmare but not impossible. It'd be a lot better all round if a prospective buyer could look at them first to be sure, and buy.

Any help welcome as usual

I've seen a pair for sale within the last few month for £495 in reasonable condition condition.. and they had been for sale a while.. hope that helps

Ebay prices are ridiculous. I'd position those around 400 given the bolster wear and the funny scrunching on ther drivers seat base.
I got a set in better nick for 300 but i was quite lucky.

The last pair I bought I paid £400, in good condition, heated.
The heating looms are worth a bit by themselves.

I would've thought £400 would be a very good price given the condition. I'll maybe stick a for sale add up and see how I get on

i sold mine in same spec but a little better condition for £450 - this was about 3 years ago

For the price of a dye kit (under £20) give them a thorough clean and refurb, then take good, detailed pictures and put them up for sale. Black sport seats are about the best there are to sell second hand, the less electronics the better. People with a Porsche will want them but also the air cooled VW community.
It amazes me how many things are taken out of a car and listed on eBay dirt and all. Make a bit of effort and you'd get a very good price IMHO. It's bolster cushion wear that costs money to sort out and yours look ok in that regard.
