Hi

I have purchased a mid hight scissor car lift. It is the type that has two long flat plates either side the run under the cills. You have to put the black rubber blocks between the ramp plates and the car, my questions is can the rubber blocks go on the cill lip pointing down (like a 2 post ramp) or do I have to put them under the jacking points? TIA.....

Use the jacking points, sills are not designed to support the weight of the car.

As above, also I doubt you will be able to get the under trays off if resting on sills.

There used to be a member on here that sold the solid plastic/resin jack point inserts, I have 2 and they are a must have.

I went for these x 4 for £26 and single piece design.

And so did I ! :thumb:

Hi All

Thanks for the suggestions, im interested in the 4 jack pads for £26. Do you push these into the jacking points and twist so they stay in ? im using a scissor ramp. TIA

I have the alloy ones which I put thin gasket rubber on between the alloy & where they sit. Perfect for lifting.

As a testament to how well they fit, I forgot I had them fitted & drove the full NC500 with them still attached! They stayed in all the way.

Stupid mistake which I wont make again!
