Not possible and would surely be cost prohibitive. It's one of the ways manufactures convince us to buy newer motors with better tech, so unlikely to be ever offered. You'd be looking at something like this for similar functions

That looks perfect I will have a thorough look at it when finished shift and see if it's available in uk.

Actually... there's a guy (I think it was on Rennlist) who has done exactly this but in my view you'd need to seriously deranged to attempt it. Not just the hardware and coding issues, but huge firmware challenges as well, from what I recall.

However, a reputable source for integrated reversing camera and CarPlay electronics for retrofitting to PCM3.1s is NM Automotive, based in Jersey. Also sells through eBay, I think. Link is here: https://www.nmautomotive.co.uk/carplay-androidauto

Yea, i googled that earlier and thats exactly what i would like so once im home i will give them a call.

I considered it myself after reading the Rennlist thread. CarPlay can be added anyway with the NMAuotmotive kit, but really the PCM4 is just a better screen and experience. I tried a couple of well know Porsche specialists to see if they would undertake it but the problem is apparently coding the new unit to the car, basically Porsche won't supply the code to put PCM4 into a 991.1 even though it would work. Other issue is that you would need a different Bose or Burmester amp as well because the connection is different. I think give it time and somebody will come up with a solution, there certainly appears to be a lot of interest in doing this, probably indictIve of the number of people that intend to keep their 991.1 for a while.

I'm also intending to get TPMS retrofitted at some point. Mine is a 2013 so not standard fit

Would be good to know if anybody has personal experience of fitting the nmautomotive CarPlay kit into their 991.1. Seen comments that it can be a DIY to install it into the PCM 3.1 headunit, but their website says for "Expert DIY/Professional fitting" only. There's no installation guide I can find to see what's involved either.

I believe this guy has fitted a very similar unit (and much cheaper!)
