Looks like 991 have taken a leg down in the last 6 months. Top555 have a nice spec 2017 991.2 GTS for 78k - looks like serious value

Can't help thinking that values for the 991.2 will soften more rapidly than those of the 991.1, as those that want greater modernity will gravitate towards a used 992 and those who want the N/A experience of the 3.4/3.8L will look for a low miles 991.1 :?:

+1. NA will make these cars the future classic :thumb:

I don't want to go off-topic but whilst I want to believe this, I do wonder what impact electric vehicles will have on the residuals of all petrol cars, including "classic cars".

The best advice, enjoy petrol cars whilst you can and try not to think about residuals.

I like how the 991 is fastly approaching the £40k mark..

I think that makes for a nice buy.

They are a fantastic car 991.1 especially with chrono & sports exhaust, buy one when you can at £40k well worth it.
I am not thinking of changing any time soon & loving it.

I don't know but could keep this car long term because nothing much can better it for the same price to me.

The 991.1 is basically the new 997, which makes the 997 the new 996

The current used prices reflect the current state of the market. The current market favours buyers, who are able to get better deals than normal, and this affects the used / part exchange prices, making 991.1 and 992.2 look to be good deals - also being helped by 991.2 owners trading up to 992.

This is likely to change, going into 2020, post election etc., with 991 prices coming back again

Good time to buy, not so good if you are a seller.

100% agree. I have a 991.1 4S too. Am waiting for a 992 GTS but keeping an eye on the residual values of the 991.1's for trade in...

Look to have softened a bit in last 6 months with the rest of the used market.

And therefore the 996 the new 993! :food: :hammer:

Not sure where all these bargain 991's are? I've had mine over twelve months now, if I wanted an equavalent spec, I'd need to pay pretty much the same, or probably 2-3 grand cheaper at best :dont know: Plenty of high milers about cheap but that's the case with all generations. Only the 991 turbo seems to have taken a big hit as far as I can see?

Edit, in fact a good low miles 991.1CS sits at 55k with a specialist dealer, pretty much exactly where it was 12 months ago.

I can see the 991.2 taking more of a hit than the 991.1, only really down to the turbo charging of all models from now on, making the .1 cars different, and that usually helps prices.

I have only had my GTS for a few months and i could have got it a little cheaper in the current market, and have toyed with changing it for a 4GTS on with a respected dealer, but i'll take too much of a hit on my GTS, having just changed tyres and had a full PPF etc.

Market has softened, but i am not sure the bargains will be bargains in the long run, and because 997.2 are holding values so well, it has a knock on impact on newer cars.

992 is hurting 991.2, for sure.

Once the majority of 991 owners have upgraded to 992, we will see the 991 prices bounce back a little. In 18 months I doubt we will see many 991 below £50k mark, excluding the high miler/tatty examples.

I bet there's more 997 owners upgrading to 991s than there are 991 owners upgrading to 992s so I think demand is already exceeding supply. For that reason I think it's doubtful that prices will bounce back but I would be surprised if they fall much lower.

£50k seems to be the current level for an early, average miles, 991.1S with 3.4s a bit lower and the 4S a bit higher.

Compared to equivalent 997s they all look great value for money.
