Hi folks,

I haven't been posting on here for a while nor indeed using our 993 because I've been wrapped up in a house move. Now that is all sorted I really must get round to giving some attention to the little Porsche.

I'm now living on the Surrey/Sussex border near Haslemere.

Really looking for somebody to assess the engine and make some recommendations and provide estimates for required work.

I know a lot of people were recommending a guy called Christian last time I asked, so any details for him or anybody else reasonably local for me would be much appreciated.

Cheers

I shipped mine to Tech 9 in Liverpool from London. Speak to Phil or Mark there. Happy with all they have done for me, and I trust them.

When I was looking to reseal mine, both Tech 9 and Nine Excellence kindly took a look for me and said similar things. A recommendation from a good friend who'd recently rebuilt a 964 and a 930 there helped swing it.

Northway Porsche

Not on your door step but not a million miles away, been in business for a long time and you would struggle to find a bad word said.

Very farmiliar with air cooled cars and wont look to pull your pants down.

That said I am sure you will get some suggestions closer to home, good luck :thumb:

Thanks for the tip. I just had a really good chat with Ray on the phone and will take the car into him for assessment.

Despite being based in Jersey, I've taken the car to both Northway and Christian. Would recommend both without hesitation. Christian is in a league of his own though as far as I'm concerned...definitely knows his 993s! (which is probably a disservice to all the other cars he knows lots about).

I have had a good experience with Precision Engineering at Bluebell Business Estate, Sussex.

Christian works on these cars as result of his passion and love for the marque. For 993 and air cooled in particular. All these businesses are great but for the guys working there it's a job. It's work. Christian is properly into this. The detail, there is no 'that will do" mentality. He does this stuff like it's binary. It's either right or it isn't.

He's the choice of the illuminati.

I send my car to Christian from NI. Having tried a number of independents and OPCs, I won't send it anywhere else.

so does Christian do gearboxes as well . I have a small issue of when I am on it and giving the the car death its not a problem .its when im on a lazy drive I sometimes crunch second gear as the the throws are long .I would fit a short shift kit if it sorted it out but I don't want to waste £500 if it dosent help

The man has rebuilt gearboxes. He does it himself. Not outsourced to a third party with him creaming off the top. Like most specialists. I like to think of him as rain man for Porsche. Given the proliferation of mental illness rife on this forum, Im staggered Jon TTT doesn't have a direct debit set up to him already. Those with OCD treated with care.

Speak with John at Unit Eleven in Warrington. Nothing John doesnt know and I'd guarantee his pricing will be way less than southern Indies :thumb:
