Had my 997.1 2005 6-7 months, Cd Changer seems dead, no power light, no noise!
Can't select it from the head unit, like it's not there.

I took a quick look under the plastic cover and found I have the piggy back DVD player for sat nav on top of the CD multi changer.

Can't see an easy way of getting behind it to check cabling ect-

Any advise appreciated.

They are on slide clips that move forward to release but I found I had to gorilla it a bit! I think you can release them with a small screwdriver too😊
Are you sure you don't have a dension or equivalent which will emulate the cd changer ? You can check what is there by pressing 2buttons not 148 and it will list the MOST loop but I forget which 2! Sorry, in Italy at moment and no access to my info.

easiest way to get to it is to remove the trim. its about 8 or 9 torx head screws and then it comes off in one large bit( remember to disconnect the frunk light) you can thne get a screwdriver in to undo the bolts holding them together

Cd changer.

Thanks for the answers.

I did wonder if a blutooth unit had been fitted but figured it would have shown up when scanned for?

Anyway after a YouTube search I removed the plastic shroud in the Frunk removed the rack with the changer and dvd.

Checked I had 12 volts and optic signal (which I did) so brought the changer indoors sat at my dinning table and stripped it down and after manually ejected the cassette to find a badly split CD inside which had clearly caused a jam but why the changer refused to eject or even whimper in sympathy ?

Anyways, all good now and working just dandy!
