Just had the wheel liner off to find the leak on my washer tank , turned out to be the pump leaking.
Put everything back to together and now the brakes don't work, pedal is solid as if the is no vaccuum
I disabled the height control before jacking up the front wheel.

Its now to late to do any more work 😱any ideas?

I agree , thinking about it , I did have all the engine covers off.
Just wonder why it didn't throw any alarms.

Also didn't like the look of this , it has bolt holes but appears to be stuck on ( almost)

Best to just remove the covers and trace them, the pipes are brittle now and split easy if knocked..

That's not factory, the factory ones are underneath the headlight, they can get water ingress and then die, looks like that has happened and someone has fitted that..

Yes they must be aftermarket, just remembered I couldn't find the front washer pipes , now I realise there aren't any , which may make them an mot failure. But it just Passed.

No washer pipes?
Does it have the cut outs in the bumper for them? You can use a plastic pry tool to lift them up and you should find it slightly hard to list but you'll find the water pumps there. They squirt when you have the headlights on and you give the windscreen washer jets a blast.

I would have thought it has those as the car has Xenons as standard..

it does have the cut-outs for them, I just don't remember the pipe on top of the washer container, will check tonight .

Found the culprit, cut the elbow, turned it round and put some hose in to butt joint it.

Checked the headlight washers and theres nothing there!

Took the under covers off.
Fastened the pipes to stop them touching anything.

Fitted the poweflex torque strut inserts.

Fitted a new washer pump , no leaks anymore.

Test drive , quite a difference , much quieter, felt much smoother, I think the pipes must have been touching the bodywork and transmitting the hydraulic pulses. And when hard cornering they where moving around.

Much better 😀

I cleaned up all the oil as best I could , took it for a drive and luckily no drips so it could have been 10 years worth of dripping.

carried out an oil change as the oil smelled really bad, also put a new set of iridium plugs in, found a few of the aluminium coil bolts had been sheared off in the head. so there was nothing holding them in, managed to extract the sheared studs and fitted temporary bolts.

the engine now seems a lot quieter , but I think the Powerflex inserts are transmitting some engine vibration, may run it with out to see if that is that cause.
I think the main cause of noise was the loose hydraulic PDCC pipes touching the body work.

still have to change the thermostat , just arrived today.

now finding when it rains the GTS fogs up badly, I am assuming it s the engine not getting warm, or could be damp in the cabin, will need to check under the carpets.

the engine is not running as smoothly as you would expect a big V8 too, but until the stat is replaced there is no point fault finding yet.
also finding the throttle response lagging, if you blip the throttle it stutters then picks up, but the fuel trims could be all over the place with the cool engine.

but generally impressed with the mechanical engineering design, not too impressed with the electrical standard, cheap plugs stretched looms , exposed wires etc but I am an electrical design engineer so more sceptical.

That's the PAS pipe hanging down, it's normally mounted to the engine with some isolating rubber bushes but when people do oil filter changes, I think they must pull that pipe out the way and break the bushings. Mine was the same. Ordered new bushes and sorted it.
