Hi Guys,
Had the 964 out last night and after a 30 min perfectly fine drive, I put my foot down and just had a mass of hesitation, pinking, rasp and a gradual pick up in speed until it burst into life and off it went.. Backed off, tried again and it wasn't as bad but still had a miss, revving the car in neutral, no problem, revs fine. Got home and I could hear a miss but it seemed to clear itself, so it is very much intermittent.
The plugs are new, they proper spec Beru ones. The leads are not too old. I don't drive the car much, had it out for a meet last time and it performed faultlessly.
The caps and the rotors appeared clean the last time they were off when I did my valve clearances(less than 200 miles ago) but they did have some mild wear on some of the tips, so I am going to change those as part of a refresh to cure this prob. Whilst I am doing that, it makes sense to change the belt in the dual disti setup as I have no record of that being changed.
So my question, has anyone gone about swapping the belt themselves? Is it a worthwhile DIY or best to ship it off to a specialist for a full service? (If anyone does that).
Thanks
Mark
