2011 Panamera - Suspension Arm/Subframe Question

Good day, fellow Stuttgarters!

I recently acquired a 2011 Panamera 4S (a sea of beige and walnut!)

After hooning down to France and back, the fuel pump gave out 30 minutes north of Le Mans.

Now that the car has been recovered to the UK for repair, the local OPC has discovered that the adjuster on the sub frame for the n/s/r lower suspension arm has "broken" (attachment uploaded). I am being offered a "whole new subframe" but am VERY dubious i really need this.

In the spirit of full disclosure, wheel alignment was performed prior to my journey at a local Porsche specialist (not the OPC where the car was recovered).

I have requested comment from the specialist that undertook the alignment but have not received any response as yet.

I guess that I am REALLY asking is "has anyone seen this before?" Having to replace a whole subframe due to a "broken" wheel alignment nut...? Is it possible to "break" the alignment screw?

Thanks,

Phil

PS - am not really a newbie, I used to have 993 Turbo back in 2011 but have lost my original login details. StaplehurstFats was my handle, although I was not a really active poster...

Resurrecting an old thread, how did this turn out?

Sounds like "stealers" doing their thing, to me.

EGTE,

Thanks for replying, but no real resolution I am afraid. OPC Service Manager said it was not really as problem and does not need fixing BUT if I ever wanted to put a warranty on the car, it would need sorting.

My rear bushes are worn and will need replacing at some point but not to a any great extent. Have spent a lot in the last 6 months (circa 5k for Fuel Pump, Oil Pump http://911uk.com/viewtopic.php?t=136863 and discs/pads) so bushes will have to wait until the next Euro Millions roll-over...

Phil

Sounds like a good decision. Good luck.

There was a TSB about camber nuts; perhaps they broke after coming loose?
