Ok so let's the guffaws out of the way first, I've locked my key in the rear boot and have no spare............2001 Boxster S.
So there I am in Tesco bit of shopping, roof down, sun shining the worlds a fab place....then I accidentally lock the key in the boot and the car has locked itself.....because I remotely opened the car but reached over the door to operate the switch,as the door hadn't physically been opened with the allotted time frame the car locks itself.......here starts 11 wasted hours of my life I'll never get back.
The emergency release isn't there, I have no spare key because the car only came with one and I never bothered to replace it.
So the rac came...sorry mate no can help I'll get a locksmith, he came sorry mate no can help, phoned my local garage ..sorry mate no can do, got another locksmith who spent over an hour trying to short out the switch to no avail back the rac ..can you recover my car ...yep four to five hours....then it gets worse the alarm goes off every time you go near the car so can't take it home the neighbours will kill me.
This all started at 930 yesterday morning eventually my car was put on a wrecker at 8pm to go to an airfield storage yard, so alls we'll that ends well....not quite the roof is still down it's thundered and rained the likes of which Noah would have been proud so now the car is also very wet, it's going to take three days to get a key from Germany via OPC then it has to programmed ...300 of your very English boris is prime minister pounds,oh and did I mention my wallet, credit cards , house keys and what will be a very smelly lot of shopping are still in the locked boot.
The lesson here is if you only have one key for your Porsche ..get another one ..TODAY.
I can't believe that such a fab car has shitty systems like this.totally ridiculous . Think my love of my Boxster has now gone as she will be when get another key, get her dried out etc.
