Changing cooling fan resistor (Genuine porsche part)

Evening All,

One of my fans has stopped working and I thought I'd start by changing the resistor.
I'm not a fan of soldering so purchased the genuine Porsche part.

Have been reading about how it can be changed via the wheel arch once the liner is out.
I removed the liner which was quite simple, can see the rresistor and the 3 way plug.
BUT the cables run behind what looks like a plastic fan shroud behind a metal frame. This needs to come out to be able to gain access to the fan to connect the wires and to thread the plug throigh.

Do I also need to remove the bumper?
Do I need to remove the radiator to get the fan out?

Was quite pleased with how simple it was to get the liner out and that there didn't seem to be any significant corrosion hidden.
