Afternoon all ,

Sorry i know this is a regular topic so to speak, Ive just spent an hr reading old posts from the search forum.

My 997.1 2S with PASM needs new lower arms and rear track rods, front top mounts followed by a GEO. oh along with a minor service... Ive wanted to get rid of the massive arch gap for ages and if the car is having the suspension off might as well throw springs on.

Car is unlikely to be used on track anytime soon this is more of a look thing! damm that GT3 RS stance !!

I don't want the slammed look! H&R -30mm springs are being recommended by the indi...

does anyone have a recent photo of their car on these... i dont want to be to low but then waste a load of £££ on not going low enough to actually make a visual difference.

thanks all

Andy

Do have a look at my project thread "Mr White": my 9972 is running H&Rs with PASM in recent pictures. You can see some before and after...

I was just talking to another member about this yesterday, basically you have 3 main choices that people go for, H&R give the lowest drop but some might say they are a bit harsh. Techarts give even drop across both arches but not quite as low as H&R and they feel fine with no issues with bone bashing over bumps, then Eibach drop about the same as Techart on the front but the back wheel gap is still a little higher. These pictures are all from my cars and I preferred the Techarts for stance vs ride but I have not tried H&R so Max might help on those.

Ok very help full replies so thankyou,

I think I am favouring the H&R kit that @maxA is running see below from his thread, the techart look very nice but still leaves a noticeable arch gab from the shared photos vs a subtle arch gap.

The rear gap looks perfect the front maybe a little too low.

Tech art drop looks perfect to me. Are those 20's in that pic though?

I am definitely finding this a back and forth moment from a decision point of view,

I would love coil overs but my shocks are in good health and it would be fair to say i would never really do them justice and there are a big cost up vs springs

Good evening guys, Just to go slightly off tangent, I am going to change the springs on my 997.1 Carrera with pasm. I was wondering if any of you have had experience with Vogtland springs. I have heard good reports about them on other forums but nothing to do with Porsche fitment. They are available through Demon Tweeks and are significantly cheaper than Eibach or H&R

The H&R setup looks perfect to me. When the top of the wheel arch touches the top of the tyre, perfection is achieved on a 911. Why Porsche didn't reduce the gapiness of the ride height I'll never know.

Not heard of them on a Porsche before but you can get an Eibach kit on Ebay for £220, Autodoc also sell Eibach kits although I cant seem to find the for 3.8 cars only 3.6 but it might be worth a chat to find out as they are around £210. Not sure how much the Vogtland ones are but the Eibachs arnt that much if you look round.

A no cost option was -10mm sport springs, I fitted -25mm to mine, too low, then went -15mm H&R which ticked the boxes, a finger or so between arch and tyre.

hi,

If it has to be springs. out of the three options mentioned in this threead I would go for finns Techarts.

It has been discussed at length for the best compromise between ride height and ride quality its the techarts hands down.
