I have just bought a new rear window seal to replace the old one.

It's literally almost an inch too long?

Any had this problem before?

Anyone know the solution

Yep...
- ordered and inspected each part number variant that might apply based on slightly different model years, thinking I'd been supplied with the wrong version - the early model year version was slightly better, but all were noticeably too large

Ending up cutting it on the nearside bottom corner to remove the excess once fitted - you wouldnt notice unless told, but still ridiculous that it was necessary with a factory trim seal

When I had a new rear window fitted a few years ago the fitter thought the Porsche supplied seal was too long.
He spent time working it into place and was surprised that after a bit of time it fitted perfectly.

Are you talking about the filler strip?
