A short video on how to quickly remove the hard sound insulation from the car interior. No doubt the same applies to various other models.

Why would someone want to do this? A weight reduction thing on a race car or something?
 
Certainly weight reduction is the main reason. The little parts which were left are being cleaned off with some solvent and a screwdriver.
