ive read posts where they’ve had to remove the fan and then use a pry bar to lever the dizzy out.
What makes it hard to remove is the rubber seal that is on the shaft, spraying wd40 will work it’s way down to the seal and help release it.

…..after spraying with WD-40, keep this angle under the dizzy and carefully beat it up - good success, perfect is a slide hammer ! _________________ Grüsse, Diddi

WD40 can make rubber seals a bit more grippy(and swell), Silicone lube works best when rubber and metal parts need to slide around.

thought id be clever over the weekend and lift the car up, put it in gear, then turn the wheels to get the engine to the timing marks so I can remove the distributor. turns out I don't understand very well how differentials work ! (turning one wheel spins the other in the opposite direction and trying to turn both simultaneously was beyond the strength of me and my helper). no way could I get the engine turning in this situation.
presume you guys who have removed the dizz have managed by putting in gear and rolling the car back and forth (while on the ground) ? _________________ 1996 C2 manual

Turn the engine over by turning the crankshaft pulley (clockwise) use a socket and breaker bar, or off set ring spanner, in neutral and handbrake off !

run the car for the first time with newly refurbed dizzy...wasn't really expecting to notice any difference, (other than a big bang if I put it back in wrong) but the change in the engine really is quite substantial. so much smoother at idle and high revs... all the slight disturbances in the engine note at idle have gone away. the only other thing ive changed is the coil... just because I'd already done the plugs and leads, caps, etc. last year.
I didn't think there was much wrong with my dizzy... just the very slightest of sideways movement was felt on the rotor shaft, so don't know whether that was getting worse when running.
I'd put the change up there with the effects of when I had the wayne tuning done.
definitely recommended. _________________ 1996 C2 manual
