Sorry i dont have an advert.

Cayman S 981
2014 42,000 miles
Metallic Silver
20" 991 Turbo Alloys
PDK, Bose, PASM, PSE, Nav, Bluetooth

List price: £40,000

Can't for the life of me find one that well specced, but the mileage is putting me off. Others around it have 25k miles but less spec.

:welcome:

I'd say that asking price was pretty much spot-on if it is for sale at a Porsche Specialist and includes a decent warranty.

The mileage is above average and the Turbo wheels won't be to everyone's taste so an offer would definitely be in order.

Good Luck. :thumb:

That spec looks pretty 'standard' for an 'S' and I found plenty on eBay a while back. This for instance has more spec, Sports Chrono and transferable OPC warranty with lower miles and lower price? 18-way seats are the best you can get and I'd be all over this car like a tramp on chips.

Do you need Bose given a fabric roof is going to compromise sound quality in the cabin? PASM is a curates egg - some like it and others don't as it can make the ride skittish on rough road surfaces.

My car is a similar spec to the one that Zingers highlighted - mine is 2016, came with just under 5K on the clock and was £46K - I found it tough to find a decent spec 981 (Cayman or Boxster) at the time, in a decent colour combo - in particular I wanted the PSE and adjustable seat options.

From memory, Caymans were about £2-5K more than an equivalent Boxster at the time - not looked since, so not sure where that sits now

Several truths in that Zingers. The 14s and 18s are superb if you can find them and the PASM I think actually detracts from the car feeling properly planted at speed. The firmer setting helps, but its not as well tied down as I think it should be. Whilst I've not tried standard springs on a 981; I believe that EVO Magazine was right when they said the ideal Boxster or Cayman would be specced with the manual 'box AND X73 sports suspension. Wish I'd taken that more seriously at the time. :wack:

You guys are talking about boxters.. equivalent boxters are about 5k cheaper. I want a cayman.

Thought Mr Zingers had maybe started sprinkling something in his cigars when he started talking about cloth tops

FFS it was the 981CS that threw me plus the fact Jonttt has (almost) brainwashed me that the Boxster is THE only 981 to buy

A nice grey private 2013 cayman s up on AT with 42k, decent spec and 10 months porsche warranty £33950.

I wonder if I should save some money and consider a cayman.

Only took me two months to see this! Enjoyed it though :thumb:

Didn't know this thread was still going.

I didn't buy the 981 CS because it was too dear.

Went and found a 981 BGTS, a year newer and with half the miles on the clock for a few k more.

Funny cus this Cayman is still for sale ;).. obs too expensive
