Looks like I missed out on the C4S I was after so back to the drawing board and maybe a higher mileage car around £40k would be better.

Spoke to a couple of dealers today with cars around £45k and even though they have been advertised for a while they were not budging on price at all

If they won’t budge on screen price, start negotiating for extras to be included.

Eg: As many of the below as possible!
4 x Michelin Pilot Sport 4S
Major service inc plugs (to use when next one is due),
Minor oil change service.
Full paint correction detail.
Ceramic coating.
Paint protection film.
Car cover.
Clutch.

Don’t mean to be patronising but you said you are a stranger to used car buying.

I got 4xPzero’s, major inc plugs, Porsche child seat thrown in when they wouldn’t move on screen price. That lot would’ve cost me £2k.

Is it ok to post links to cars for sale and ask for opinions? Not sure if there are rules against it and couldn’t find

Got 5 options so going to work on narrowing them down today and speaking to all the dealers and see what I can come up with

They are all on autotrader and here anyway.

As I said via PM low mileage well priced mint cars sell very quickly (in any market) overpriced and average miler cars (the majority) take a long time, people will disagree but its a simple fact.

Everyone will say buy it and use it! Great but you'll take a big hit at sale time, the market is swamped with average milers, most have been for sale for an age, if they wont budge go elsewhere to someone who will!

Average cars aren't going anywhere, and winters coming, the markets not improving and brexit is coming, personally id go mint (and buy asap after advertised or someone else will) or wait

And don't put any cars you're interested in on here!

pms stay in your 'outbox' until the intended recipient opens them.

When they moved to your sent box you know the recipient has opened them.

it does have the sports exhaust. they are offering it with a warranty with Blackstar warranties

torn between this and a C2S which is the same year 8k miles less, same good condition and spec and £1k less with OPC warranty and a recent PPI.

there really isnt much difference in the price so really comes down to mileage, condition and difference between the two warranties

The Spec' won't suit everybody eg. no sunroof, no rearwiper but not having those would be a + for me.

Looks like a very nice car.

Looks like a nice car - the spec is spot on!! Price may be a little full at this time of year from an independent especially one that does not specialise in Porsche. Do you have the link to the C2S?

Price looks high, that’s been for sale an age and the warranty unless OPC is worthless. Also missing the proper sports design steering wheel.

those were all my concerns and even though they have come down in price i think i needs to be £40k when compared to yours (or even less) Rolling Eyes

i doubt they can come down that much without loosing money

would rather get it cheaper and get them to do the 111 point check so i can obtain the OPC warranty immediately

Unless you buy a car from an OPC or have an existing warranty transferred from a private seller you have to have owned the car for 90 days before you can get an OPC warranty on it.

This would almost certainly mean that another 111 point check would be required.

as they have had the car for over 90 days they would be able to get this done and just effectively add it to the price of the car after the negotiated price has been agreed so avoid any waiting without cover for me

Warranty from Porsche doesn’t apply when sold by a non-OPC dealer.
