10k in a year, am I mad?

I've done 3 french driving trips in the 993, but was still well set to stay below my 7500 annual Insurance limit.
However I've just decided to do another 2k trip and upped my limit to 10k.
my car has done 109k and is running great, the only issues i seem to encounter seem to be age not milage related. (and of course i get it well looked after).
My thoughts are use it while you can.
It doesn't seem to me I am massively affecting the value (now it's over the 100), or much accelerating the point I need to look at some kind of rebuild.
Am i missing something?
for context i could never see myself doing less than 5k a year, I wouldn't see the point.
Would be interested in views.
Cheers

Always nice to read about someone getting out and enjoying their car.

Like the man said, just get on with it and enjoy every grin-inducing mile. :D :D :D

I would say the reason its running so well is that you use it haw it was made to be used , as you say the value isnt going to change much now so just get on a enjoy it which was why you brought it. :thumb:

Just ticked over 120,000 miles at the weekend on a run through Glencoe having covered 8,000 miles this year and the car is running sweeter than ever......the more you use it the better it gets, sounds cliche I know but true

I've done 9000 miles in my first year of 993 ownership and that included 1k with Phil 997 going to Dinslaken in May.

I bought it to drive it. Car's just turned 130k and I hit 60. I plan to put on another 10k each year for as long as possible!

^^^^^Long time dead, we have just lost my other half's Mam and my eldest dog in one day, DRIVE IT ! ^^^^^

Nope, it makes you a legend!

100% great work, these cars are meant to be driven+

I've just put 3500 miles on mine in a month and wish I could do more!

I was never afraid of putting on the miles when I owned mine ........ and I am the same with the Boxster ...... I have just had to up my mileage to 10K per annum as I am soon off for another trip through France to the Spanish Pyrenees and then back up through France to St Malo.

Must have got close to that in my first year; Ireland, Scotland, two trips to France (one Nonaco/Nice). This year nothing until the past week as it has been in the workshop since November. Making up for it now :)

Good going to do 10k in one. More fun to use it than have it sitting there. I've also been told by two specialists that they stay in better shape when used.

Thanks for the replies, and encouragement!
It's a done deal, now changed my tunnel bookings and rally entries.
