What's the right money? I guess it depends on what work you can do yourself?

What would a rebuild cost? £5-6K? You could end up with a nice car for around £15K with luck...

WAY WAT to much money for a leggy targa and its a tip. will be lucky to get 6k for that. could need 8-10k spent at hartech.

what if the roof needs doing? that's another 2k.

Starting price just gone up to £9K!

Who knew Elva was eleven in Swedish :dont know:

Nice pic with a bag a55 tree in the way

Should be £3-4k - a bit more than scrap value.

Suspension/rads and who knows what else will most likely need doing!

Totally agreed. The roof would probably be even more than that (I know from personal experience). And that's saying nothing about anything else that may need doing.

So 9k (current minimum bid) + 10k rebuild + 3k roof (most are on borrowed time by now) + lets say another 2k for rads and suspension, etc. comes to 24 grand.

You could get this for that:

Feel sorry for the guy selling but £9K is a bit optimistic.

I agree, no way would I consider paying £9k for that but it does make you think.

I paid £9,500 for a 996 on just over 61,000 miles, with a functional engine.

Can't help but think that this needs to be a little cheaper to represent value.

Is his story really so sad?!

He has been driving around in a Porsche, and now it is broken, too expensive to fix and is trying to rip someone else off with his price and offload the problem.

I was unaware the Targa roof has a sell by date, and is so expensive to fix. Glad I don't have one, and if this is the case, the car is now well and truly a write-off.

If I owned this car, and someone offered me £2k, I would bite their hand off.
