Gen 2 Carrera 2 front mesh options - not Zunsport

After some advice please; I'd like to install front mesh to protect the radiators and condensers on a 2011 Carrera 997.2 (no centre front radiator). I tried Zunsport but thought the fit of the side grilles was poor, and I didn't like how the side grilles looked - so they went back (full refund with zero hassle to Zunsport's credit).
I want something to go behind the bumper - especially for the side vents with the plastic slats. But I can't find anything online at a sensible price. All I could find was Rennsport ones which were £300+. Everything else was for Turbos or GT cars I think.
Has anyone done a behind-front-bumper mesh/grille or had an indy do it for them? Obviously it involves taking the front bumper off so I'd probably ask Brookspeed, 9e or the like to do this on top of a major service rather than bodge some DIY effort. I want something that looks "factory" and that will last without rusting. Ideas, anyone?
Cheers, Mike.

If you're handy you can make your own for about a £10 with some mesh, small diameter rubber house and a coupe of zip ties

DW performance in Northampton do what you're looking for.

From their Facebook:
Supply & fit £180+vat.
Remove the Pu, fix from the rear and clean all the rads off. Spray Scott oil on them so help prevent corrosion. Then refit and you know your rads and condensers are good.

They have an office space with WiFi while you wait as well.

I agree with you 100% on the look of the Zunsport.

The front bumper comes off relatively easily, about 30/40 mins depending on the instructions your given. I fitted the Zunsports and they do look a bit OTT and blank out the factory grills.
I've seen people use disposable BBQ mesh as it's got a bit of strength to it and can be easily shaped and then held in place with tie wraps.
Mornings work and about a £10 and a BBQ in the evening!

Thanks James M-S that is exactly what I wanted, cheers.
I did see a couple of DIY threads on here but I would like a specialist to have a close look at the car's rads and condensers (I don't think they've ever been touched since new). So if the bumper's coming off, it seems a good idea to get them to fit mesh at the same time. DW Performance has great reviews although their website doesn't seem to work - well, as of three minutes ago.

Their website seems to be down quite a lot.

If you're on Facebook, their page is quite good.

There are several ex-Silverstone OPC technicians there. I wish I'd got the mesh when they gundo'd me.

As you have a GenII make sure to mesh the intakes that go from the centre via the sides ;)

I did mine last month after fitting new ac condensers.

I made them up myself out of a black plastic honeycomb grill rather than the metal mesh. Cost around £10 off eBay.

I fitted them from behind and also removed the small vertical strake in the centre of the horizontal slats.

The plastic honeycomb material was easy to cut and I fixed them from the inside using a combination of tie wraps and self tappers all hidden from view at the front.

I also covered the inside of the two inlets that feed air in from the centre duct, you can just see this in one of the pics.

Sorry about the stupid question, but I assume that while these stop leaves and fag ends and rubbish (Mars Bars wrappers?) from accumulating by the radiators, do they help stop stones, grit and gravel? That's my problem. :dont know:

It would have to reduce it by some margin you'd think. It's basically got to get through the mesh without touching the sides and that would be a fair old shot.

Ive thought about this, Even though i don't use the car all the time, or even on motorways that much. My recently fitted AC condensers have taken a right whack.

Mesh would definitely reduce the chances of a stone hurtling in at 70 mph to do some damage.

It's surprising how many leaves, tissues, wrappers get stuck down near the rads though!

From my 996 C2 when I took the aircon condenser off recently.

The other side wasn't as bad.

Yes, the do help you're never going to stop everything but having an effective net in front of a gaping hole is going to stop more than without.
