Help diagnosing CEL

Morning all,

The CEL came on last week, just trundling along back from B&Q when it just appeared. No symptoms other than the light so no drama I guess. I got an OBDII reader and it showed P2098 (Post-cat fuel trim). I took a reading of all sensors which is below.

Main issue is I can't clear the code. I've done it four times, ignition on, engine on, I've tried both combinations and even been for a quick drive and the light doesn't go out which is really strange. On my last reading, the scanner even said 'no codes stored". Let's assume thie issue is present and needs fixing, then I can go from there.

For info, I have new 200 cell cats from Top Gear and all 4 O2 sensors were replaced when it was fitted (brand new genuine Bosch), about 1,000 miles ago. I've read up on this code and I seem to be getting different causes, so if anyone has seen this before I'd appreciate advice. Also is there a definitive App people use with a Bluetooth OBD tool to clear codes?

Cheers
Paul

When a car has been modified i tend to struggle and as such dont really answer threads .. the mods have caught me out in the past so i stick to standard .. But ..

Couple of things though that do seem strange ..

B1 short and long term are opposite , rich one way and lean the other.

B2 is fine on short term but rich on long term .

Are the pre cat or sensors 1 switching 0.2-0.8 volts ..

Any exhaust leaks on either bank.

Maf sensor seems to be reading high if its on idle , i work in kg/h and it should be around 18 kg/h .. a conversion seems to indicate you are at 25 kg/h.

Usefull site i browse when on here ..

Thanks, I'll go out for a spin and capture a couple of screenshots at idle and at 2500rpm.

I have cleaned the MAF this afternoon, and have checked all of the O2 sensor wiring and the exhausts and can't see anything obvious. This was the freeze frame from when the light came on:

I use the android app CarScanner with my Bluetooth reader and its always cleared the codes when I've run the car without the MAF plugged in (as an example)

Thanks both, I went out for a spin and managed to work out how to clear the light - I needed to use the app to clear the code, then switch off and on again and the light is gone.

So the light is now out, I've reset the trip so I can see how far I've gone if it comes back on again. For info I took readings at idle and at 2.5k revs before I reset the light.

Anyway, something to keep an eye on, if there are any clues in the readings below please let me know
