I want to fit some new rubber on my car... I know its been asked a million times lol

Michelin still do not make PS4s to fit the rear. So the question is do I go for PS2s at the rear and PS4s up front or better just to go good ol' PS2s all round?

Tom

For me I would like the same compound rubber on each corner. Ps2 or cup 2 would be my choice

Quick on the keys Faried! I have just sent you a text :D Thanks, that does make more sense! The other option is go to 19" wheels but I am concerned about how the handling could be compromised :?: :dont know:

Don't keep it a secret. Others on here are interested in opinions too. I would always run the same compound on all four corners.

Asked an Indy this question today myself...

He said PS2 front and PS4 rear would be OK :judge:

I always thought a 4 wheel drive car should have all 4 matching tyres so I am subscribing

Not all 996 turbos are 4wd.....

Mine is 2wd. I run PS2. And about to go Cup2 on all 4 corners. For me it's an old school choice to keep it all the same. Different compounds and maybe you get a different turn in etc. I just don't know and don't have the spare cash to make a mistake by trying something out they I am not happy with.

PS2 and Cup 2 tyres are good for multiple 200+ mph runs so that is good enough for me and a benchmark I can rely on

I don't know many people who run PS4 tyres at 200 mph and beyond ?

Thanks guys. Think I'll stick with ps2's all round. I'm more comfortable with that and as you say Faried tried and tested at high speed. Although I suspect Michelin test their newer tyres to the same or higher standards than previous versions. Or at least I hope they do. I'm also going to look in to 19" options based on your advice Faried.

Also a 996 turbo is so much better in RWD!!!!

Tom,

Wise i think, PS2 is a great choice

a 2wd Porsche turbo is the way to go....LOL. Its fun anyways

My offer on the text stands Tom,,,,not a problem, Tea or coffee will be on tap !

When i get back from italy, the current tyres will be close to illegal, or that is one of y trip objectives!!! so i am going to slap on some Cup 2s .....got them already dot code dec 2017 so still quite fresh

Keep an eye on any black circles cheap orders as i had to send back (lots of hassle) a set of Cups that were over 6 years old FFS

Regards

Thanks again Faried. Really appreciate the offer! Have a good trip mate and hopefully we can catch up when you get back :)

Also good advice re black circles etc. I really do not want old stock. My current ps2s have plenty of tread but as my car has been on and off the road for the last 2 years my tyres are now 3 years old.

Hi, I was at a tyre garage the other day to get a price for rear ps2 and he told me they have ps4 295/ 30/18 now

The best price I could get for PS2s recently was from Asda, fitted at a local specialist, check them out.
