Have you/he considered a part-ex versus what he wants next?
Or an indy selling it on SoR basis?

There are a lot of Turbo cars on PH, so supply is in excess versus demand. Spending over £40k on a car with no warranty and no access to finance facilities is a tall order. A cash buyer (if he comes along) will cut you down further on price, so a part-ex may be a viable proposition.

If on the other hand it was bought as an 'investment' with no trade-in or part-ex at the end of a term, then quite another matter...
