Sticky s**t Remover

Whilst washing SWMBO car I noticed brown sticky splash marks on the running board, plastic trim and door panels.

I purchased an Auto Glym Tar remover and it hasn't touched it. I have also tried a clay bar and this hasn't worked either?

I think SWMBO has driven through the "tack" coat for temporary road markings.

Can anyone recommend any products that will shift it? :thumb:

White Spirit.

I have found that WD40 is at least as good as proprietary tar removers if not better.

Not sure what that stuff actually is on your wife's car however 3M Adhesive Remover gets rid of tar spots easily and also removes polish/wax from rubber surrounds....

Autosmart Tardis vote #2....

Great stuff , would be surprised if it doesn't shift it ..

Try some white spirit, if it is tar or some oil based substance that should shift it, if not then try paint thinners, but go easy and test somewhere where you can't see it first!

Another vote for tardis. Wear gloves though

Tardis didn't touch it

Any other suggestions before I get the sandpaper out?? :frustrated:

Have you tried white spirit yet?
