Low quality centre wheel plastic cover bits

Hi All,

I have a 991.2 Turbo. The wheels have plastic circular bits in the middle with a Porsche logo.

The edges of these bits all started to peel and look disgusting.

Car in for a frist service this morning and I pointed this out to the service advisor.

She proceeded to give me a long pitch around how all plastic centre covers to this and the problem is not unique to Porsche. It is apparently down to the salt on the roads or the non-PH neutral car wash which I may be using.

When I politely advised her that I haven't driven the car in the winter, and I always use specialised PH neutral wheel cleaner she said it may be to do with rain...

I asked to see if they'd replace them under warranty, as to me this is a design defect. I've had cars with plastic centre wheel bits before (Audi's Mercedes) and they didn't have that issue.

Has anyone else had this experience?

Thanks,
K

Had she just completed a deal to sell some frozen water blocks to some little men who live in igloo's :dont know:

They do talk some Shite in the OPCs if your going to blag off a customer at least make it sound convinsing   if the cars under warranty then they should be replaced they are hardly a consumable or wear item surely. :nooo:
