Is anyone familiar with or been to view the white 997.2 manual car at Portiacraft?

It's what i'm looking for (997.2 manual) and one of the few that are inside my budget. It's a long way to travel to go and see it but I expect that will be the case with the vast majority of these that come up.

I'm pretty sure it's been for sale for quite a while so I thought i'd check to see if anyone else had viewed it before making the journey.

Sorry no info on the car, but it's very well priced due to the mileage no doubt, and Portiacraft have a pretty good rep, welcome by the way :thumb:

Good luck

Yes the mileage is a little higher but that doesn't really bother me as I don't do that many miles a year.

I could no doubt get a lower mileage 997.1 for that money but I prefer the interior of the 997.2 and of course less likely to go wrong engine wise.

Tidy car. Under 7k miles driven annually... I always wonder with low mileage cars if you get other issues later if they aren't properly stored - spending months in a driveway doing nothing..

I would take it.

Now you've posted the ad on here, you'd better hurry up before you get gazumped :thumb:

Looks a great car from a good specialist. Don't let distance get in the way.

Think about the drive home 8)

Feeling the peer pressure here :D

I'm fairly sure it's been for sale for quite a few months but yes I guess I should make the trip down to see it for myself. I just thought with the length of time it's been for sale I may be missing something.

The only thing you're missing is owning a Porsche 911 :thumb:

There might not be another one for a while. I waited months

Non-S cars are generally less popular. Spec is quite basic otherwise. Mileage is ok, but some prefer fewer miles. White is not for everyone.

As already said mileage for a 911 ave 7k PA this is lower than that but has clearly been driven ,I would say perfect mileage not ave 911 ave but also not been sitting around which IMO is worse that leggy :thumb:

Thanks for the replies, nice to see an active forum as most other marques have died of recent years due to the advent of Facebook et al.

I'd prefer a basic spec, I love the fact it has no sunroof or rear wiper etc.

Anyway I'll be in touch with them tomorrow to try and get a viewing.

I own a white manual 997.2 Carrera 4 similar basic spec to this & love it, I only do a few thousand miles a year great car, go for it if you can.

66k miles / 7.5 years about 8,800 per year.

I don't know the car but I did buy a 997.2 from them. They have an interesting simplicity to their approach. Their cars are always amongst the cheapest on the market so don't expect it to be over prepped. However the car I bought was fundamentally solid and they even fixed a water pump when it was just out of warranty for the part cost only.

They won't treat you like a king like an OPC but they sell half decent stock all the same, just with a take it or leave it attitude.

If this was close to me I'd offer to go have a look, no one going past or live close by?

That said it's a good known dealer and not known for selling rubbish.

If white is your only colour, move quick! I wanted Mezger and PCM3 so knew I had to move quick when it came to the market.

Good luck

Nice car, I would't worry about the mileage at all, as Phil says, these cars benefit from regular use rather than being laid up for months at a time! I visited Porticraft many times when I was looking for mine, nice guys, helpful and they have a loyal customers!
